Kaizer Chiefs to renew Elias Mokwana transfer interest? Bafana Bafana star set to terminate contract with Esperance de Tunis after not being paid for months

Esperance reportedly owe Bafana Bafana winger Elias Mokwana money and their relationship with the player has broken down.

The player's attorney Kabelo Mashigo has opened up on the situation of the player who has made seven Tunisian Ligue 1 appearances for Esperance, scoring one goal.

“Much of the issues are confidential,” Mashigo told SABC Sport.

“But I can confirm that the club is in breach of the agreement. We provided them with notice to rectify the breach. They have not complied, leaving the player with no option but to accept the repudiation.

"Elias is focusing on the call-up now and once that is done, we will consider the next step.”

Well known local agent and CEO of Prosport International Mike Makaab has taken to social media to comment on Mokwana's situation and point out he encouraged the player and his representatives to choose Chiefs over the North African club.

Before Mokwana signed for Esperance, Kaizer Chiefs were keen on having him but he opted to go to North Africa.

If he becomes a free agent, it remains go be seen if Amakhosi will renew their interest in the winger.

Given his experience with Bafana Bafana and playing in North Africa, Mokwana could be the good addition Nasreddine Nabi is looking for.

The next few days will be crucial in determining the future of Mokwana after he returns from duty with Bafana Bafana.

If he terminates his Esperance contract, he will have the option of returning to the Premier Soccer League or moving elsewhere.
