    WHAT HAPPENED?

Tanzania international Feisal Salum is reportedly a transfer target of Kaizer Chiefs since the January window.

The Azam attacking midfielder continues to be linked with a move away from the Tanzanian side, and the club's spokesperson Thabit Zacharia says they are open to selling the midfielder.

    WHAT ZACHARIA SAID

“We expect Feisal to deliver results because we are paying him a lot of money,” Zacharia told FARPost.

'However, if he decides to leave, that will be his choice. We are not stopping him from leaving.

“We have no plans to let Feisal go. But if a team makes an offer that meets our expectations, we will not stand in his way. However, as of now, we have not received any offers from any club.”

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

What could convince Chiefs fans that Salum would be a good catch is the confidence coach Nasreddine Nabi seems to have in him.

The two previously worked together at Young Africans between 2021 and 2023.

With the player being a full Tanzanian international, that also spruces up his profile as Chiefs have been battling transfer blunders in recent seasons.

    WHAT NEXT?

With Chiefs' difficult season continuing, it gives Nabi a clear picture of their needs for next season.

It appears the Soweto giants might need to beef up their defence, which has been worryingly conceding goals, their midfield where there is a lack of creativity and their strikeforce where forwards have been struggling to be prolific scorers.
