    WHAT NASIR SAID

“There is an information circulating on social media regarding my current status with SuperSport. To be honest there were a lot of miscommunication and misunderstanding with the club,” said Nasir as per iDiksi Times.

“After a recent injury during a friendly game on the 5th of Jan 2025, I was told to rest by the club’s physician to recover since the injury is not substantial, which I did. Later I received a message through my agent about my absenteeism.

“I then communicated to the club about the situation and apologise for the incident.”

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

The signing of Kaizer Chiefs forward Christian Saile Basomboli could be a result of Nasir being an injury-prone player.

Nasir is yet to make his SuperSport debut this season and the closest he came was being an unused substitute against Magesi in December 2024.

He last featured in a competitive match in April 2024 when he came off the bench in Sundowns' 2-1 league victory over Sekhukhune United.

That highlights the player's injury problems that have followed him at SuperSport.

    WHAT NEXT?

Matsatsantsa have not won their last three matches and they will be looking to recover when they host Magesi FC on January 28.

It is to be seen if Nasir will be fit enough to play that match.
