    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Samkelo Zwane has been one of the talents at Naturena, but his growth has been hampered by injuries.

On Sunday, he made his ninth appearance in the ongoing Premier Soccer League season.

He was the main man in midfield, trying to make things happen.

Zwane has now explained how coach Nasreddine Nabi, who was suspended for the fixture, motivated him to a Man-of-the-Match display.

    WHAT ZWANE SAID

“Yeah I mean, for [Sunday's] game we changed our shape a little bit in the progression,” he said after the match.

"The coach told me that I’m going to play a bit higher, a bit box-to-box, but like higher he wants me to play high. So, I just took the instructions, and results came."

    AND WHAT IS MORE

Zwane has been out due to injuries and other factors, but he has now explained what it felt like starting a game for the first time since October.

“It feels good to be back in the starting line-up. You know, I’ve been working hard off the field and staying after training doing some finishing and extra work," Zwane revealed.

“I just want to thank my teammates, thank the coach, thank the whole [Kaizer Chiefs] family, they showed a lot of support in me, and I thank God I was given a chance.”

He should now work on consistency to force his way into the Bafana Bafana team.
