Mfundo Vilakazi rose from the bench to separate the two teams with a goal four minutes from time as Kaizer Chiefs claimed a 1-0 victory.

The 19-year-old profited from Sekhukhune United captain Linda Mtambo losing possession to send a curler from just inside the box and hand Chiefs the win.

His goal came just two minutes after Babina Noko had defender Vuyo Letlapa red-carded for his dangerous tackle on Vilakazi.

Amakhosi won 1-0 and their three points lifted them from position seven to five on the standings and Sekhukhune remained fourth on the table.

    THE MVP

Samkelo Zwane justified replacing Yusuf Maart in the starting lineup and combined well with Sibongiseni Mthethwa in central midfield.

The Amakhosi youth team product was starting for the first time since November 2024.

    THE BIG LOSER

This has to be Sekhukhune who failed to reclaim the third spot on the table following Sunday's defeat.

Had they won, they could removed Polokwane City from position three but the loss ended their five-match unbeaten streak that had included four wins and a draw.
