    WHAT HAPPENED?

Former Orlando Pirates coach, Mike Makaab, has shared some wise words with the newly signed Kaizer Chiefs defender Inacio Miguel about managing his frustrations on the field of play.

The Angolan defender has found himself on the wrong side of the referee's decisions six times in just six games this season. He was sent off during the Carling Knockout match against Mamelodi Sundowns.

Consequently, Makaab, who won the PSL title with the Buccaneers in 1994, has cautioned Miguel about the consequences of his mounting frustrations, emphasising that they will continuously result in him receiving bookings.

    WHAT MAKAAB SAID

"I looked at the captain, Inacio Miguel. I think he's a top footballer, but he's got to be less emotional," Makaab said on GagasiFM's ExtraTime

"He is going to get yellow card after yellow card and red card after red card if he doesn't calm himself down.

"As a captain, you need to have that composure and that sense of calmness so that when the young players around you are losing their heads or feel initiated or feel overwhelmed, it's then your senior players that have to steady the ship," he added.

"Unfortunately, Chiefs' senior players never steadied that ship at all."

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Miguel, who plays as a centre-back, joined Chiefs on a three-year contract in August from Angolan giants Petro de Luanda.

The 28-year-old hard-working player has become a permanent fixture in Nasreddine Nabi's team's starting eleven. He has also been serving as a vice-captain to Yusuf Maart.

Miguel has scored one goal for Amakhosi and helped the club lift two unofficial trophies, namely, the Cufa Cup and the Home of Legends Cup.

    WHAT NEXT?

Miguel will be looking to refine his on-field conduct following recent setbacks and to set a positive example for the team when the PSL action resumes after the Fifa international break later this month.

The Glamour Boys are scheduled to play against Richards Bay at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium on November 27, followed by a match against Royal AM at the same venue three days later.
