    WHAT HAPPENED?

Bafana Bafana legend Pollen Ndlanya has revealed that he was disappointed with Orlando Pirates and Relebohile Mofokeng's display in the Caf Champions League match against Al Ahly.

The Sea Robbers played to a goalless draw against the 12-time African champions at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday, and Mofokeng did not impress as anticipated.

Ndlanya, who turned out for Goztepe and Bursaspor in Turkey during his playing days, is not happy with how his former club, Pirates' performed in front of a big crowd and a huge occasion.

    WHAT WAS SAID?

"I'm a little bit disappointed with Orlando Pirates. I think they got stage fright. I was expecting some individual brilliance from the likes of Relebohile Mofokeng," Ndlanya said on Radio 2000.

"They should have taken the game to Al Ahly. Supporters came in numbers and were expecting a lot."

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Despite his recent underwhelming performance, Mofokeng has been performing well overall this term, particularly in the Premier Soccer League and MTN8 matches for Jose Riveiro's team this term.

The Sharpeville-born player's ability has also caught the attention of European clubs, including Spanish La Liga giants FC Barcelona.

Mofokeng, who is also a regular in Bafana Bafana squads, could leave the Soweto giants in the future if he continues to attract interest from abroad having undergone trials at Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers in October last year.
