Former Bafana Bafana and Kaizer Chiefs striker replaces new Orlando Pirates coach ahead of 2025/26 Premier Soccer League season

Kaizer Chiefs legend Doctor Khumalo has revealed that Bafana Bafana legend Mark Williams has been appointed as head coach of the Siwelele FC reserve team.

The coaching position at the DDC side fell vacant when Roscoe Krieling left the position and confirmed his appointment at Orlando Pirates.

"Even Williams has been roped in as the coach of the DDC side," Khumalo told SABC Sports.

"Williams will be in charge of the junior side at Siwelele. He got his badge in the UK, and he is a coach. He got a UEFA licence, not A, probably B," he added.

Krieling confirmed his move to the Soweto giants just after SuperSport United sold its Premier Soccer League status to Siwelele FC.

Krieling had been in charge of the DDC side since 2023, when Thabo September moved to Chippa United.

Meanwhile, Williams' appointment has been confirmed just days after Lehlohonolo Seema was named as head coach of the senior side.

SuperSport United were a known talent development hub, and since buying its status, eyes will be on the new outfit to see if it will continue with the tradition.

One of them is Ime Okon, who recently signed for German side Hannover 96. South Africa's promising star Shandre Campbell and Thabang Mahlangu, who won the DDC Golden Boot when SuperSport won the league in the 2022/23 season, are the other notable stars who were nurtured at the club.
