Football fans call for Man City to be stripped of titles and ejected from the Premier League if they're found guilty of breaking FFP rules as new survey reveals opinions on potential punishments

    Reigning Premier League champions Manchester City have been a hearing into their Financial Fair Play case open on Monday, September 16. With proceedings finally getting underway, it is expected that all evidence will be heard over the next 10 weeks.

    Ahead of the legal battle between the Premier League and the Cityzens, Betfair/YouGov conducted a survey where they interacted with more than 2,000 football fans across the UK regarding City's case. The survey has revealed that more than half (55 per cent) of the fans want a points deduction for the champions if they are found guilty of flouting FFP rules, while 45 per cent want a heavy fine to be imposed on the Manchester club. Meanwhile, 41 per cent of fans want the club to be stripped of the league titles that they won in the last decade.

    The survey included opinions of fans of Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United and of course Manchester City. The majority of the City fans have voted in favour of a fine imposed on their club if found guilty.
