Florian Wirtz wants to link up with Harry Kane! Bayer Leverkusen star set to snub Man City & Real Madrid in favour of Bayern Munich transfer

Wirtz has been linked with a move away from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer, amid strong interest from Manchester City and Real Madrid. According to BILD, the attacking midfielder has made up his mind on his next destination as he is all set to join newly crowned Bundesliga champions Bayern.

The report adds that the player has already informed Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso about his decision to move to the Bavarian club. His father and advisor Hans shares a close relationship with Bayern chief Uli Hoeness, and they have reportedly discussed a potential move for the player, whose current contract runs until 2027. The two German clubs are now set to negotiate a deal in the coming weeks for Wirtz, who has a €125 million (£106m/$142m) release clause.

It has been speculated that Wirtz could follow Xabi Alonso to Real Madrid as the Spanish manager is being tipped to replace Carlo Ancelotti as the club's next head coach at the end of the 2024-25 campaign. However, the Germany international is reportedly determined to play for Bayern.

Vincent Kompany's Bayern side will be back in action on Saturday as the new German champions will host Borussia Monchengladbach in their penultimate game of the season.
