Footmercato is reporting that a contract agreement between Wirtz and the Bavarian giants has been reached, giving Bayern a leg up over their competitors for the 21-year-old. However, Bayern have yet to agree a fee with their Bundesliga title rivals. The player has a €125 million (£106m/$142m) release clause in his contract, that would need to be met for Leverkusen to part company with their prized asset. Wirtz's deal runs out in 2027.

WHAT NEXT FOR WIRTZ?
Eight points adrift of Bayern with just three games left to play, Leverkusen will know if their title defence is officially over by the time they take the field against Freiburg on Sunday afternoon.
