    WHAT HAPPENED?

Kaizer Chiefs hosted Royal AM on Saturday at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.

The Glamour Boys scored two first-half goals but were stunned by their visitors in the second half. Royal AM answered the two strikes to ensure the spoils were shared.

The result meant the Soweto giants have defeated Thwihli Thwahla just once in the last seven league meetings.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

On-loan midfielder Njabulo Blom started from the bench, but an injury to Dillan Solomons - who had replaced the suspended Reeve Frosler, allowed him to enter the fray.

In the 79th minute, Sabelo Sithole was fouled by the Amakhosi man in a promising position.

Much to the surprise of the Royal AM technical bench, referee Jelly Chavani showed the 24-year-old just a yellow card.

Former Fifa referee Victor Hlungwani has now explained why that was a mistake.

  • WHAT HLUNGWANI SAID

"A wrong card was given here, that was supposed to be a red card if you can check it was almost a one-on-one situation with the goalkeeper," he told SoccerZone.

"Incorrect decision by the referee Jelly Chavani... this is the correct card (red card)... So the incorrect one was used," Hlungwani added.

    WHAT NEXT?

Chiefs have not been doing well in the defensive department, conceding in every PSL game played this season.

Their next fixture will be against Polokwane City at the Old Mokaba Stadium.

Inacio Miguel will be returning from suspension but Reeve Frosler will be missing, meaning Blom might start.
