Confirmed! Orlando Pirates set to lock horns with Uefa Champions League club in Spain after clash with former English Premier League side

For the third successive year, Orlando Pirates will be in Spain for their pre-season training.

After securing a friendly match against League One side Bolton Wanderers to be played on July 11, the Buccaneers' second opponents are now known.

On July 13, they now face a team that will be playing Uefa Champions League football next season.

The Buccaneers will face Cypriot champions Pafos FC on July 13 at the Marbella Football Centre.

Pafos booked a Champions League ticket after pipping Mihlali Mayambela's Aris Limassol to the domestic league title.

Pirates' first time to camp in Spain was followed by a preliminary round exit from the Caf Champions League.

But their top-class preparations were justified last season when they reached the semi-finals of the continental competition.

They would also want to show their huge investments in shaping up for a new term by winning the Premier Soccer League title.

While Pirates fans are waiting to know the rest of their fixtures for the Spain tour, there is also keen interest to learn about the next man to succeed Jose Riveiro as head coach.

They are expected to name the new coach anytime from now before they regroup for pre-season training and kickoff the Spain camp on July 6.
