    Richards Bay 4-1 Chippa United

Knox Mutizwa's first-half brace inspired Richards Bay beat Chippa United 4-2 at uMhlathuze Stadium on Sunday.

The Zimbabwean first found the back of the net after seven minutes to double the Natal Rich Boyz's advantage after Ntlonelo Bomelo had scored two minutes earlier.

Mutizwa was back eight minutes before halftime to seal his double after Chippa had attempted a comeback through Azola Tshobeni's 25th-minute goal.

Lundi Mahala then struck in stoppage time to confirm the big win for the hosts.

  • Golden Arrows 3-1 Sekhukhune United

Golden Arrows are into the Carling Knockout quarter-final after beating Sekhukhune United 3-1 at King Zwelithini Stadium.

In the stroke of half-time, veteran striker Bradley Grobler, who tends to score against Kaizer Chiefs, guided the ball into the net with his hand, but the officials didn't spot it, to give Babina Noko a lead.

However, Jerome Karelse responded in the 57th minute to make it 1-1 before Maxwele Ayabulela's 64th-minute goal gave Arrows a deserved lead.

Ayanda Jiyane put the icing on the cake with 18 minutes to go, which ensured his team won the tie 3-1 to make the last eight.

  • Durban City 4-1 Polokwane City

Durban City became the first team to make the quarter-final of the Carling Knockout after beating Polokwane City 4-1 after extra-time at the Chatsworth Stadium on Friday night.

Hunt's men scored their first goal in the 12th minute as Fezile Gcaba converted Saziso Magawana's assist. It seemed the defender had done enough to win it for the PSL's new boys, but Lebohang Nkaki took the teams to extra time with his 89th-minute strike.

Mfanafuthi Mkhize scored in the third minute of extra time to put the Citizens in the driving seat, before Gcaba - a member of SA's 2019 FIFA U20 World Cup squad in Poland - struck in the 111th and 114th minutes to send his team through.

It was the Orlando Pirates product's first career hat-trick, and it came at a vital time.

    Orbit College 0-1 TS Galaxy

TS Galaxy progressed to the Carling Knockout Cup quarter-final after a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Orbit College on Saturday at Olympia Park Stadium.

The game progressed to extra time after both Premier Soccer League sides failed to score the winning goals within that period.

It looked like the match would be decided from the spot kicks, but Frenchman Mehdi Ouamri scored the vital match-winning goal for Galaxy in the 109th minute.

As Galaxy progress in the competition, Orbit College are left frustrated given how hard they fought for close to two hours only to be beaten late in the game.
