    THE BIGGER PICTURE

The former Mamelodi Sundowns and Al Ahly forward has been a free agent for some time now since he left Qatar SC the previous season.

He had been linked with several clubs, including Kaizer Chiefs, but his move to Southeast Asia means a return to the Premier Soccer League is not possible for now, though.

Tau's reported demand for a R450,000 salary is understood to have made his return to PSL impossible.

He now joins Blom at the Asia Champions League club that is currently the defending champions of the V.League 1. Tau is expected to feature in the Champions League next season with his new club.

    WHAT NEXT FOR TAU?

With the African Cup of Nations finals coming up later in the year, Tau would hope that he will get enough minutes, get back to his top level and earn Hugo Broos' trust in order to be involved for Bafana again.

Bafana also have their eyes on the remaining World Cup qualifiers, and Tau would undoubtedly like to be summoned for those games. But given the stiff competition in the team for positions, he needs to be impressive to get his slot back.
