    WHAT HAPPENED?

Royal AM was expelled from the Premier Soccer League following trouble with the South African Revenue Service, SARS.

The club's owner, Shauwn 'MaMkhize' Mkhize, opted to go to eSwatini, where she has since acquired shares at Mbabane Highlanders AM.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

During MaMkhize's era at Royal AM, her son Andile Mpisane opted to ditch administrative duties, temporarily, for a stint on the pitch.

However, the team's expulsion meant his dream was cut short before reaching his peak.

Upon acquiring another chance to continue serving football, but in eSwatini, MaMkhize was asked about the possibility of her son playing for Highlanders.

    WHAT 'MAMKHIZE' SAID

“Jersey number 10, he wants to be in the management space now,” she told Metro FM.

“I don’t know [if he is retiring from playing football], for now I think so because even when Royal AM was there, he was starting to learn the administrative part of it.

“I think all that he wanted was to play in the elite league, which he did; he tasted that.

“I don’t know, but for now, I think he prefers to be in the management space. I don’t see him going there [to eSwatini], but he enjoys being in the business side of things," MaMkhize concluded.

    WHAT NEXT?

Mamkhize loves football, as seen in the previous engagements in the Premier Soccer League, and the most recent one, where he decided to invest in eSwatini.

The main objective is to restore the club's fortunes as they hold the record (13) for the most Swazi Premier League titles, but last held the trophy aloft in 2001.
