Late night for Alisha Lehmann! Swiss star stays up until 3am to watch boyfriend Douglas Luiz in Copa America action – only to see Brazil lose on penalties to Uruguay

Lehmann confirmed her move to Juventus on Sunday and despite having a hectic day, stayed up late to watch Brazil take on Uruguay at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. However, the result wasn't want she would have hoped for as Luiz came on as a substitute for Lucas Paqueta in the 81st minute, only to miss his spot kick in the eventual penalty shootout as Brazil lost 4-2 - with Eder Militao having missed from the spot as well.

Luiz and Lehmann rekindled their romance in late 2023, with the duo having met while playing for Aston Villa. They have both departed the Birmingham-based club and made moves to Juventus. Lehmann's switch was announced on Sunday, while Luiz's transfer was confirmed by Aston Villa on June 30 - ahead of the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) deadline.

Speaking upon her unveiling as a Bianconeri, Lehmann talked about having the opportunity to play in the same club as Luiz. She said: "For Douglas and me to be together in the same club is a dream. We have often played in different cities, so being able to have these great adventures in the same place is something wonderful".

With the Swiss star having already made her way to Turin, it is likely that Luiz will soon join her in the Italian city as they begin preparations for a new life in Italy with pre-season fast approaching.
