Switzerland vs Denmark Betting Tips: Latest odds, team news, preview and predictions

Group D's two top seeds will meet in Tuesday's Euro 2020 qualifier, as Switzerland welcome Denmark to St. Jakob-Park.

Vladimir Petkovic's men are already sitting in first place, having opened their qualification campaign with a 2-0 victory in Georgia on Saturday.

Latest odds

Having won 11 and lost none of their last 12 competitive fixtures on home turf, they are 6/5 (2.20) favourites with William Hill to pull off a significant victory here.

The Danish Dynamites were forced to come behind twice to salvage a draw with Kosovo in their last match, but can be backed at 5/2 (3.50) to get their qualification campaign off to a strong start by coming out on top in Basel.

The sides shared a 1-1 draw when they last met on Swiss soil in 1998's European qualifier, and you can get odds of 21/10 (3.10) on them cancelling each other out once again.

Team news

Fabian Schar has been ruled out after suffering a concussion against Georgia, joining the injured Xherdan Shaqiri in withdrawing from the squad.

Current Danish Superliga top scorer Robert Skov was unable to join up with the squad for this international break due to injury, with Borussia Dortmund's Jacob Bruun Larsen taking his place.

High-scoring clash

Although more renowned as a strong defensive team, the Nati have actually looked more impressive going forward in recent games.

While they have kept just two clean sheets in 11 fixtures, their last two competitive home matches have seen them score an impressive 11 goals.

Those numbers sound ominous for a visiting Danish side that conceded twice against Kosovo last time out, albeit atoning for that with two strikes of their own at the other end.

Predictions

All in all, odds of 11/8 (2.38) seem generous on at least three goals being scored for Switzerland’s seventh competitive match in nine.
