After their midweek success in the UEFA Super Cup, Liverpool return to Premier League action on Saturday afternoon with a trip to St Mary's Stadium to face Southampton.
While the Reds began their league campaign with a thumping 4-1 home win against Norwich last weekend, the Saints were beaten 3-0 at Burnley and Ralph Hasenhuttl will be demanding an improved showing from his side.
Latest odds
Southampton won just five of 19 home matches in the top flight last season, with only rock-bottom Huddersfield winning fewer. 888Sport offer a victory for the Saints at 23/4 (6.75).
Liverpool, for their part, are priced at 4/9 (1.44), with the Merseysiders winning 3-1 at St Mary's last term following a 3-0 success at Anfield. The draw can be backed at 18/5 (4.60).
Team news
Alisson remains injured and with Adrian set to start his first league encounter since joining, having played in the Super Cup. Naby Keita also missed Wednesday's clash and remains a doubt.
Southampton have no major injury concerns.
Preview
The Reds lifted their second European trophy this year at nearly 1am local time on Thursday.
GettyThe turnaround for Saturday afternoon's clash is extremely short and after a gruelling penalty shoot-out win against a Chelsea side who made them work hard, it would be understandable to see Jurgen Klopp's side a little fatigued.
Southampton had problems in front of goal last term, with only two non-relegated sides scoring fewer than the south coast outfit, and those problems continued on the opening day of the season as the side drew a blank at Turf Moor.
With the hosts misfiring and the visitors perhaps a little drained there could be some value in opposing a high-scoring game on Saturday afternoon.
Tips and predictions
The price of 143/100 (2.43) for one of the halves to be goalless should appeal, as does opposing both teams to score at 53/50 (2.06) and under 2.5 goals at 69/50 (2.38).
