NSL round-up: Ushuru FC on the verge of returning to the Kenyan Premier League

Ushuru FC maintained the chase for Kenyan Premier League promotion after their convincing 3-0 win away to Green Commandos on Wednesday.

The Ken Kenyatta led side reached the play-offs last season but fell to Thika United 2-1 on aggregate. It seems the taxmen have learnt their lesson and are currently leading the race with 51 points.

Former top tier heavy weights Western Stima are second with two points less after the same number of matches, with the bankers KCB third on forty-six, having played a game less, same as Nairobi Stima, who are placed fourth with forty-three points.

The relegation zone has Isibania, who are currently lying in the 17th position with eighteen points, Nakuru All Stars, 18, with two points less and GFE 105, who have fourteen points.

The top two sides will automatically qualify to the top tier, with the third team facing the 16th placed team in the Premier League team in a play-off.

Bottom three teams will automatically be relegated.
