Nothing special facing Enyimba, says Shooting Stars' Azeez

Shooting Stars forward Abu Azeez says he is not having any special feeling facing his former side Enyimba at the Lekan Salami Stadium on Sunday.

Having seen out his one-year contract with the People's Elephants last season, the Supersand Eagles star joined the Oluyole Warriors during the mid-season transfer break.

And he currently looks forward to leading Fatai Amoo's men to secure maximum points against the Aba based giants as long standing rivalry between both sides will be rekindled.

"I don't feel anything special about it, it's just like a normal match,"  Azeez told Goal.  "It is the same way I feel playing against Remo Stars, I will feel against Enyimba.

"There is nothing special. The only difference is that most of my close friends which I’ve seen for long are with Enyimba. And seeing them again is the only reason why I’m going to be very happy.

"No, the game does not bring any extra burden on me at all. I'm not bothered. We are playing with 11 players, likewise Enyimba. It is a game of football and can go either way. But, all I know is that - 3SC wants to win and we really need the three points so badly. I know we can win.

"I have played for them before and it was my personal decision to play for 3SC. I've played for Enyimba and Warri Wolves - they among the biggest teams in Nigeria. I had good offers from bigger teams but I decided personally to play for 3SC.

"I'm very happy to be playing for them and I don't think I have any regret joining them. I met the team in the relegation zone when I came but now we are 16th on the log. So, It doesn't matter playing for Enyimba or 3SC, I think what matters is being very impactful on the field of play.

"We have a lot of top players in the team. And it is our hope not to drop any point at home again. Every member of the team intends to come out strongly to get the three points against Enyimba.

"We hope to win all our remaining home matches and possibly get some points away in quest to avoid relegation. We will start the campaign against Enyimba on Sunday."
