Chelsea vs Wolves Predictions: EPL Matchweek 10 Odds & Best Bets

After leaving it very late to get the better of Crystal Palace, Chelsea emerged from last Saturday’s London derby with three points. Now, they will look to continue their winning momentum.

Standing in their way of such an achievement are Wolves, and after slipping into the relegation zone later that same day, the club’s owners would soon make a difficult decision — one that saw Bruno Lage relieved of his managerial duties.

Steve Davis has been handed the reins on an interim basis, and with the academy coach being given the opportunity to show what he can do, he now will look to move Wolves out of the bottom three.

Chelsea vs Wolves Odds

Chelsea vs Wolves odds are current as of Thursday, Oct. 6, and courtesy of PointsBet Sportsbook.

3-way handicap: Chelsea (-286) | Draw (+375) | Wolves (+750)

Draw No Bet: Chelsea (-900) | Wolves (+490)

Over/Under Goals: Over 2.5 (-125) | Under 2.5 (-105)

Both Teams To Score: Yes (+110) | No (-145)

Current betting lines have sportsbooks leaning heavily toward a Chelsea win on Saturday. However, a change of manager at Wolves may offer some value in terms of the Draw No Bet market.

With the visitors having notable issues in attack, total goals are likely to be in short supply at Stamford Bridge. Therefore, backing Under 2.5 is also worth some consideration before the weekend.

Chelsea vs Wolves Betting Tips

Graham Potter’s league homecoming

After last Saturday’s victory over Crystal Palace, it meant Graham Potter oversaw a first Premier League win as manager of the Blues — a win that was delivered at Selhurst Park. With a domestic homecoming waiting around the corner, success at Stamford Bridge will also be welcomed.

Although the former Brighton boss has already led Chelsea into a home battle, his previous skirmish was a Champions League stalemate with RB Salzburg; a draw which led to a smattering of boos at the final whistle – something that Potter will be keen to avoid this time.

All change at Wolves

With Wolves recording a bad run of results at the end of last season, the pressure was always going to be on Lage to deliver. This would ultimately cost the Portuguese coach his job.

The Molineux outfit failed to arrest their slide at the start of this new campaign, and in the short-term at least, it will be up to interim manager Davis to try and solve their issues in both attack and defense.

Aubameyang off the mark

After opening his account for Chelsea last weekend, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will now look to further endear himself to his new support. The easiest way to achieve such a feat is by continually scoring goals.

Although a few eyebrows were raised when the Gabonese forward made the summer switch from Barcelona, there is no doubt that he still has an eye for goal. Should he be able to keep his focus throughout the season, it will boost Chelsea’s hopes of earning another Champions League invite.

Chelsea vs Wolves Prediction

Chelsea 2-0 Wolves

Chelsea have been given rather short odds by the sportsbook, and you can understand why. With Wolves coming into this game in a state of flux, the Blues will be in the perfect position to take full advantage.

Add the fact that Wolves are incredibly shy in front of goal this season, and although former Chelsea forward Diego Costa is likely to start for his current employers, I cannot see the Spanish international landing a glove on the opposing defense.

This should be a rather routine display for Potter’s men. Not only will they earn maximum points, but they will pick up a clean sheet as well.

➕ Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang Anytime Goal Scorer (+120) at BetMGM Sportsbook

WAGER: 1 unit

One of the criticisms of Thomas Tuchel’s last days as Chelsea manager, was that the attack was misfiring. This ultimately led to the arrival of Aubameyang, and with the 33-year-old in the starting eleven, the Blues now have a genuine focal point up top.

The former Arsenal man found the net last Saturday, and his first league goal at Stamford Bridge should not be far away either.

➕ Under 2.5 Total Goals (-105) at PointsBet Sportsbook

WAGER: 1 unit

Going into the weekend’s Premier League action, Wolves currently possess the worst attack in the division. With just three goals to their name, they are certainly struggling in the opposition’s final third.

Chelsea are currently averaging 1.4 league goals both for and against, and with this commodity likely to be at something of a premium on Saturday, backing Under 2.5 is worth some serious consideration.
