Game recognises game! NFL & Kansas City Chiefs superstar Patrick Mahomes shouts out Temwa Chawinga as KC Current star breaks Sam Kerr's NWSL goal record with unstoppable strike
NFL superstar Patrick Mahomes has given a shout out to Temwa Chawinga after seeing her break an NWSL goal record with KC Current.
He has seen Chawinga make history by becoming the first player to register 19 goals across a single NWSL season. That mark was hit, passing former Chicago Red Stars and current Chelsea forward Sam Kerr along the way, when firing home a spectacular strike from distance against Bay FC.
WHAT CHAWINGA SAID
Malawi international Chawinga has said of rewriting the history books: “[It] means a lot to me because it's a very difficult league, but I try my best and I need to work hard to score goals. So, I thank my team-mates, and I thank God for giving me this chance to be here in the USA (and) play over here.”
