Man City youngster James McAtee a top priority for Borussia Dortmund and a possible Florian Wirtz successor for Bayer Leverkusen as January interest heats up

McAtee is reportedly unhappy with his game time at City, having played just 26 minutes of Premier League football this season. Now, Sky Germany reports that there is interest from both Dortmund and Leverkusen in signing the attacking midfielder.

Dortmund are said to be discussing the potential of launching a bid for the England Under 21 international in January; they are interested in signing him on loan with an option to buy in the summer. Leverkusen are also interested as they try to source a potential replacement for Florian Wirtz, who has been linked with a move to City himself.

McAtee's contract expires in 2026 so time is running out for City to receive a decent fee for the 22-year-old. It remains to be seen if their resolve is tested in January.

City face West Ham this weekend. They are currently in an awful run of form and sit sixth, having won just one of their last five Premier League games.
