Our analysis: Form of both teams
- Score prediction - Tottenham 1-2 Man Utd
- Goalscorers prediction - Tottenham: Brennan Johnson - Man Utd: Bryan Mbeumo, Bruno Fernandes
This is a repeat of the 2024/25 Europa League final, when Tottenham beat Man Utd 1-0 in Bilbao. The North Londoners won all four of their head-to-heads last season. However, the Red Devils will come into this game in better form.
Ruben Amorim’s side have secured 10 points from their last four Premier League matches, including a 2-1 victory at Liverpool. However, they only managed a draw at Nottingham Forest last weekend.
By contrast, Spurs have lost two of their last three league matches. Those defeats came at home against Aston Villa and Chelsea. However, they managed to bounce back with a 4-0 Champions League win over Copenhagen on Tuesday.
Probable lineups for Tottenham vs Man Utd
Tottenham expected lineup: Vicario, Spence, Van de Ven, Romero, Porro, Bentancur, Palhinha, Simons, Kudus, Johnson, Kolo Muani
Man Utd expected lineup: Lammens, Shaw, De Ligt, Yoro, Dalot, Fernandes, Casemiro, Diallo, Cunha, Mbeumo, Sesko
United to finally get one over on Spurs
There’s plenty of reason to think that Tottenham’s winning streak in this fixture is likely to end on Saturday. Thomas Frank’s side have been inconsistent this season, especially struggling in their home Premier League matches.
They’ve secured just one point across four home matches since beating Burnley on the opening weekend. They created fewer than 1.0 expected goals in all of those games. Chelsea won the xG count by a margin of 3.6 last weekend, with Spurs completely outclassed by their London rivals.
Man Utd are showing their most convincing form since the start of Amorim’s tenure. They’re also at an advantage, having not played any midweek fixtures since the last international break, while Spurs have played three.

Mbeumo’s hot streak to continue
The Red Devils have invested heavily in many players in recent years, but very few have settled as quickly as Bryan Mbeumo. The 26-year-old has scored four goals in his first 10 Premier League matches for the club, including three goals in his last three games.
His strike rate of 0.42 goals per 90 minutes nearly matches his output from last season at Brentford. Mbeumo netted 20 times during that campaign, and he has more shots per game on average for his new club.
The Cameroon international’s stats also compare well with the rest of the competition, as 54.2% of his shots have hit the target. Among the 36 players with 15 or more attempts, only Erling Haaland and Antoine Semenyo have a better record.

Visitors to score at least twice
Given how vulnerable Tottenham appeared defensively in their last Premier League home game, United should cause problems throughout this match. The visitors have scored at least twice in all of their last four matches, and having to play only once a week is beneficial for them.
So far, the Red Devils have created 17.5 xG in the English top flight this season. Only Man City and Crystal Palace have a better record.
They also have more forwards that can cause serious problems this term. Bruno Fernandes remains a key figure in a deep-lying midfield role, with an average of 2.8 key passes per game. However, they can also rely on Diogo Dalot and Amad Diallo to cause trouble on the flanks.
Mbeumo has stood out among their new attacking signings so far, but Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko are expected to contribute more.
