Klopp's team won 7-0 in Slovenia in the reverse of this Champions League match, and could do it again when they welcome the Purples to Merseyside

Liverpool will be confident of a morale boosting big win against Maribor in the Champions League at Anfield on Wednesday evening, having inflicted a resounding 7-0 defeat on the Slovenian champions two weeks ago.

dabblebet offer odds of 14/1 (15.00) that Jurgen Klopp’s team repeat the trick and win by the same scoreline at Anfield, whilst going one better and matching their record Champions League win of 8-0, which they achieved against Besiktas in 2007, is priced at 25/1 (26.00).

It may be unlikely that the exact same scoreline as the last match happens again, though, as while Liverpool will field lots of potential goalscorers, a defensive mishap which will eliminate their clean sheet can never be ruled out.

Five goals is not out of the question, though, and the online bookmaker offers 5/4 (2.25) that Liverpool score more than 4.5 goals, although a similar outcome in the handicap market provides better value.

For instance, a bet on the Reds to win with a -4 handicap - which equates to Maribor having an imaginary four goal headstart - is 8/5 (2.60), so if you think Liverpool will win by at least five, this bet is worth considering.

In terms of who will score those goals, whilst Jurgen Klopp may not be sure of Mohamed Salah’s chances of remaining as Liverpool’s penalty taker after his miss against Huddersfield Town on Saturday, the Egyptian can be backed at 3/1 (4.00) to open the scoring on Wednesday night.

Meanwhile, Daniel Sturridge is the 9/4 (3.25) favourite to score the first goal, as he did on the weekend in Liverpool's 3-0 win, so he should be full of confidence going into this match.

The Reds are such strong favourites to win that dabblebet are offering shorter odds on one of their defenders scoring first than they are for any individual Maribor player; indeed, Joel Matip - who gets lots of chances from set plays - is 22/1 (23.00) to open the scoring, whilst Jasmin Mesanovic is the shortest priced Maribor player to score first at 25/1 (26.00).

As Liverpool look likely to run riot, there are a host of tempting bets for the match and Klopp's charges should have no problem racking up the score.
