'Without Irvin Khoza & Kaizer Motaung, PSL would not be where it is! You want Andile Mpisane and Tlhopi Motsepe to run the league? Is he ANC now? Iron Duke must step down' - Fans

In a statement released by the Premier Soccer League this week, chairman Dr Irvin Khoza emerged as the sole nominee for the league's chairmanship.

Iron Duke (76), as the veteran administrator is affectionately known, has held the position since 2003 and he is set to continue for another four years.

South African football lovers shared mixed reactions about the news with some suggesting he should step down alongside Kaizer Chiefs boss Dr Kaizer Motaung.

Here, GOAL shares with you what the PSL followers had to say about the league's leadership.

    You think they can?

So you guys want Andile Mpisane and young Tlhopi Motsepe to run the PSL? Because those are the only two young people in our football leadership, remember you must run a team before being considered for PSL leadership - Sifiso Shange

    What a leader he is!

People are busy including politics that are happening on the field, this man is a good leader! He's achieving what we don't deserve. He's securing sponsors from overseas to maintain this league. He really worked hard and they must find a smarter man to replace him not just a plumber that will reap us like Safa is doing - Shigwili Makhubele

    A great example of failure...

Start your own thing and see what will happen if you give young people a chance. Dr Motaung gave Chiefs to his children to lead, they're ten years without winning anything, so Khoza is right - Nkosy Vikane

    Please, step down!

    Is the City boss capable?

He did exceptionally well! Our league is the best in Africa because of him, but I think it's time for him to give someone a chance to lead. He's too old now, he must leave the office. I think Mr John Comitis will be the right candidate - King Ngubane
