With Edson Castillo injured, Yusuf Maart and Samkelo Zwane off form, who will anchor Kaizer Chiefs' midfield? - Nasreddine Nabi adviced on who to play in central midfield

Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi started Njabulo Blom and Samkelo Zwane in the 4-0 Carling Knockout quarter-final defeat by Mamelodi Sundowns last Saturday.

That saw Yusuf Maart being benched and Amakhosi struggled in midfield where they were dominated by the Brazilians.

Chiefs legend Reneilwe Letsholonyane comments on the defensive linkman with Njabulo Blom having picked up a knock in the recent match against Mamelodi Sundowns.

“He’s a good player, we have seen what he can do, and he has previously performed well for the team. He has quality,” Letsholonyane told FARPost.

“Personally, I haven’t seen him perform since he returned to the club. I would like to see more from him. He can get there by working extra hard and putting in more effort."

With Chiefs having Edson Castillo as a long-term injury casualty and Maart as well as Zwane off form, Chiefs could face a central midfield crisis.

This leaves Njabulo Blom and the forgotten Sibongiseni Mthethwa as Nabi's two other options.

The North African tactician will be hoping that Blom shrugs off his injury and is available for the Richards Bay match on November 27.

The Soweto giants will have another long break before they return to competitive action.

Coach Nasreddine Nabi will be hoping his men will not be rusty by the time they host the Natal Rich Boyz.
