Winners & losers: Nkosingiphile Ngcobo and Glody Lilepo on target as Kaizer Chiefs send strong message to Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates with victory over Stellenbosch

Nkosingiphile Ngcobo’s moment of magic from a set piece and Glody Lilepo’s calm penalty were enough for Kaizer Chiefs to secure a 2-0 win over Stellenbosch. Chiefs started strongly, winning early corners and launching a quick counterattack in the 12th minute that forced Stellenbosch’s Siviwe Nkwali into a professional foul, reducing the home side to ten men.

Just minutes later, Ngcobo curled a stunning strike into the top-left corner from outside the box to give Chiefs the lead. Stellenbosch came close to an equalizer when Sanele Barns rattled the woodwork in the 28th minute, but Chiefs held firm and doubled their advantage in stoppage time after Ashley Du Preez was fouled in the box, with Lilepo calmly converting the penalty to seal the victory.
