    WHAT HAPPENED?

Golden Arrows announced the return of Manqoba Mngqithi after 10 years away. His first game was against his former club, Mamelodi Sundowns.

He managed to secure a draw in his first match back in a game that was marred by poor officiating.

The result reduced the gap between Sundowns and Orlando Pirates to 16 points, as Bucs managed to get points in Gqeberha as Nkosinathi Sibisi scored the solitary goal.

Before the match, Sundowns players and staff greeted their former coach. His deep knowledge of the team helped Arrows secure an important point.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Arrows have struggled in their last five matches; they have drawn three times and lost twice during this period. Mngqithi now has the challenge of turning their form around, and his team sits in 11th place with 21 points from 17 matches.

He previously led the club to winning the MTN 8, and Arrrows hope his return will bring back those glory days.

The 1-1 draw against his former side was a good start, and Arrows will be hoping their fortunes will turn.
