    WHAT HAPPENED?

Shandre Campbell was the decider of Club Brugge's Belgian top-flight league match away at Zulte Waregem on Saturday.

The former SuperSport United star came on from the bench in the 84th minute with the match tied at 0-0 but he scored deep into stoppage time to separate the two sides.

His goal from outside the box was one for the ages, leaving his teammate and defender Brandon Mechele waxing lyrical.

"We were lucky that Campbell's shot deflected a bit, but we know from training that he has that kind of leg. This is a good win, but we have to keep working," Michele told the Club Brugge website.

"We still need to work on the inaccuracies, the tempo needs to be a bit higher, but our game is improving."

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

After spending the better part of last season with Club Brugge reserve side, Campbell has started this season by getting game time in the first team.

He has iced it with a goal and that could increase his prospects of regular football.

It is something he would relish to enhance his chances of going to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations finals with Bafana Bafana.

    WHAT NEXT FOR CAMPBELL?

The former SuperSport United star might have done enough to earn himself some game time in Club Brugge's next game.

The Belgian side visits Scottish side Rangers for a UEFA Champions League qualification match on Tuesday and reaching the group stages of this competition is something Campbell would be dreaming of.
