Before Al-Ittihad took on Al-Nassr on Boxing Day, former Real Madrid teammates Ronaldo and Benzema exchanged a hug and a quick chin wag before the contest got underway. It was clear to see the veteran pair are on very good terms with one another going by their conversation before the heat of the battle.

These two players are among the greatest of their generation, especially Ronaldo. They have won a hatful of of trophies and played alongside each other for nine years at Los Blancos. Now, they are still showing they can deliver despite being in the dying embers of their respective careers after being among the highest profile big-name moves to Saudi Arabia.

After this match, Al-Nassr round off their 2023 with an away trip to Al-Taawoun on December 30 and earlier on that day Al-Ittihad take on Al-Tai. Both are in the top half of the table and will want to finish the season strong in 2024.
