Bayern fans were heard chanting "You're s*** and you know you are". The Red Devils head into the match with their hopes of progressing to the knockout stages hanging by a thread. Ten Hag's side must win and hope the other game in the group between Galatasaray and FC Copenhagen ends all square if they are to progress. United have already lost six times at home this season, including a 3-0 reverse to Bournemouth last time out.

Ten Hag spoke about how he felt his team could beat Bayern ahead of the game. He told reporters: "If we are in the right spirit, then we are able to do it and beat any opponent. I never think of a negative scenario, we think positive. We know what to do. We have to win to stay in Europe, it’s about that. We will prepare the team with that feeling, with the belief that we are able to do it. We have shown in the last weeks that when we are at our best we can do it."

Ten Hag's side face another crunch game after Bayern. The Red Devils head to bitter rivals and Premier League leaders Liverpool on Sunday. United will need no reminding they were hammered 7-0 back in March on their last visit to Anfield. The Red Devils will also have to face Liverpool without captain Bruno Fernandes who is suspended for the game.
