  • WHAT HAPPENED?

    Former Kaizer Chiefs target Elias Mokwana was on target as his team Esperance beat EGS Gafsa 3-0 in Tunisian Ligue 1 on Christmas day.

    The Bafana Bafana international scored in the 59th minute to double his team's scores after Zinedine Kada's 28th-minute opener from which the ex-Sekhukhune United man provided a pre-assist.

    Esperance's third goal came in the stoppages thanks to Kebba Sowe.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

    Wednesday's strike means Mokwana has now scored two goals in his last three outings across all competitions. He was also on target against the Egyptian outfit Pyramids in the Caf Champions League.

    Since joining the North African team, Mokwana has played 13 games, scored five goals and provided two assists.
