    THE BIGGER PICTURE

The 29-year-old has had stints in many clubs, as he has played in Portugal, Luxembourg, and Indonesia.

As a budding footballer, Silva honed his skills at Sporting Lisbon and Benfica and also featured for Portugal's U16 and U19 sides.

In Indonesia, he has played for two top-flight sides: Persik Kediri, whom he turned out for from 2023 to 2024, before he signed for Surabaya, where he was part of them last season.

Meanwhile, Kaizer Chiefs have been linked with a number of players, and Silva is one of them. Head coach Nasreddine Nabi is expected to specifically strengthen the attacking department after complaining he lacked effective forwards last season.

With the experience acquired across many leagues, Silva could be the man that Nabi needs in order to add a competitive edge to the Chiefs' attacking line.

However, the Glamour Boys have warned against signing Silva, as former Bidvest Wits, Supersport United, Free State Stars, and Maritzburg United midfielder Joah Chivuta believes the Indonesian league is not competitive.

    WHAT NEXT FOR CHIEFS?

It is a matter of waiting to see if the Guinea-Bissau-born forward will be part of the new cohort to be unveiled at Naturena.

Amakhosi are expected to reveal their new signings before their pre-season campaign starts in the Netherlands.
