Time for Revenge? Mamelodi Sundowns coach Manqoba Mngqithi could face Magesi's Clinton Larsen as he leads Carling All Stars coaching board

Manqoba Mngqithi and Magesi FC coach Clinton Larsen could meet once more as the Mamelodi Sundowns coach is currently leading the coaching Carling All Stars voting board.

The Brazilians were defeated in a heartbreaking fashion by Dikwena Tsa Meetse in the 2024 Carling Knockout final two weeks ago, losing 2-1 at the Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein.

Mngqithi has an opportunity to make amends and overcome Larsen, but this time he will be without his star-studded Downs players as he is poised to lead the fan’s choice All Stars team.

As it currently stands, Mngqithi is ahead of Orlando Pirates' Jose Riveiro by 4048 votes and anything remains possible with fans still having at least six days to vote for their favourite. 

Another coach who still has a chance to surpass the Sundowns mentor and the Spanish tactician is Kaizer Chiefs trainer Nasreddine Nabi, but he will need to make up a lot of ground to get there.

The best of the rest is Steve Barker with TS Galaxy's new man Adnan Beganovic in last place with just 77 votes in total.

For the time being, Mngqithi will have to direct his attention to the Caf Champions League as Sundowns face Botola Pro League giants AS FAR Rabat on Saturday in the group stages of the competition.

Conversely, Magesi will aim to return to winning form after their defeat to Chippa United in their last league match when they face Marumo Gallants on the same day as Downs.
