Mamelodi Sundowns came from behind to claim a 3-1 victory over Marumo Gallants in a Premier Soccer League game at the Dr Rantlai Petrus Stadium on Wednesday evening.
Junior Dion started the scoring for Bahlabane Ba Ntwa in the 37th minute as Gallants headed into the half-time interval with the lead.
As expected, the Brazilians came out for the second half with aggression and equalized through Marcelo Allende six minutes after the restart. Lucas Ribeiro Costa netted Downs' second goal in the 79th minute before Iqraam Rayners scored the sealing goal three minutes later.
Denis Onyango was sent off after receiving two yellow cards in the dying minutes, and Thapelo Morena had to finish the game as a goalkeeper.
The win in Free State saw Masandawana extend their lead over Orlando Pirates in the PSL table to 12 points. On the other hand, Gallants stayed in 14th spot.
