    WHAT HAPPENED?

In the concluded winter transfer window, Kaizer Chiefs made three signings.

Striker Tashreeq Morris came in from SuperSport United to boost the forward line.

Free agent Thabo Cele came in to strengthen the midfield department as Glody Lilepo was signed from Valencieness to bring experience in the wings.

    TELL ME MORE

Amakhosi supporters would have loved to see their new players in action in the Soweto Derby on Saturday.

However, the only player who might make his debut is the 28-year-old Bafana Bafana international Thabo Cele.

Morris is still serving his suspension after getting sent off against Sekhukhune United while turning out for SuperSport.

Winger Lilepo might miss out if he does not get his work permit on time.

With Ashley du Preez and Wandile Duba injured, Ranga Chivaviro is expected to start against Pirates.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

The three players are meant to help Kaizer Chiefs ambitions to end their trophy drought.

The Glamour Boys have gone 10 years without winning any major trophy which shouldn't happen to a big team like the Soweto giants.

Their best shot to win silverware lies in the Nedbank Cup where they are already in the Round of 16.

Winning the Premier Soccer League title might be too much to ask in the ongoing campaign.

    WHAT NEXT?

Coach Nasreddine Nabi and his arsenal hope to end the three-match losing streak against Pirates across all competitions.

A win for Amakhosi will further boost their confidence after back-to-back wins against Sekhukhune United and Free Agents respectively.
