    WHAT HAPPENED?

After experiencing challenges such as unpaid December salaries, the club president’s R40 million tax debt to SARS, and the postponement of their game against Chippa United due to unavailable players, Royal AM issued a statement addressing these issues.

General Manager Richard Makhoba has since confirmed that the players have received their outstanding payments.

The team will resume training to prepare for their next game.

Makhoba also dismissed rumors that players were requesting clearances to leave the club due to financial instability.

He reassured that it is now "business as usual" at Royal AM, and the focus has shifted back to football preparations.

The club is determined to move forward and is ready to participate in upcoming matches, including the highly anticipated clash against Orlando Pirates.

    WHAT MAKHOBA SAID

“Royal AM players are paid,” Makhoba confirmed, as reported by Sportswire.

“You can quote me on that as the General Manager of the club. The Orlando Pirates game at Harry Gwala Stadium (on 22 January) and the Nedbank Cup, although we don’t know who we are picking on Monday night, we will play those matches.”

“Contrary to other stories that my players want clearances, that is nonsense.

“No player wants a clearance and players are paid as I speak to you. Let me reiterate this to you, players are paid and it is business as usual at Royal AM and players will start training on Monday morning.”

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

With the payment issues resolved, Royal AM can now concentrate on returning to the pitch.

The management must take lessons from this ordeal to avoid similar situations in the future.

Stability will be key to ensuring the club maintains a positive image in the league.

As the team focuses on football again, resolving internal issues for long-term success will remain a priority.

    WHAT NEXT FOR ROYAL AM?

Royal AM is gearing up for a clash against Orlando Pirates on January 22.

Pirates, coming off a rare defeat to Cape Town City, will likely be looking to regain form.

This creates a high-stakes encounter for Royal AM, who will aim to move past their controversies.

The team’s performance will be under scrutiny to see how they respond post-crisis.

All eyes will be on their training sessions as they prepare for a tough fixture.
