    Continental glory at stake

Since being crowned continental champions in 1976, MC Alger have struggled to reach the Champions League final.

Their best outings since that triumphant year have been quarter-final finishes four times, including last season when they were eliminated by Orlando Pirates.

That leaves Mokwena with a the big task to lead his team to glory and make history of being an African champion as a head coach for the first time in his career.

    Take up the demanding job

Mokwena is at a club which could afford to part ways with his predecessor Khaled Ben Yahia who inspired them to a Ligue 1 title and reaching the quarter-fianal of the Champions League last season.

But having been in similar jobs at demanding teams like Mamelodi Sundowms and Wydad Casablanca, he could be conditioned to soak in the pressure at MC Alger.
