<p>The Real Madrid goalkeeper set aside rivalry to wish a speedy recovery to Barcelona custodian Ter Stegen who suffered a horror knee injury on Sunday. The Germany international was <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/barcelona-no-1-marc-andre-ter-stegen-could-miss-rest-of-season-stretchered-off-tears-villarreal/bltc25f0cb470401c4e" target="_blank">carried off on a stretcher in tears</a> during the Catalan club's 5-1 win over Villarreal.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Right after the match, <em>RAC1 </em>had reported that Ter Stegen could be ruled out of action for up to eight months which would potentially end his season and on Monday, after carrying out tests, Barcelona confirmed that the goalkeeper has a complete <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/worst-case-scenario-marc-andre-ter-stegen-barcelona-ruptured-knee-tendon-requires-surgery/blt8ae5b6c3db6a7a62#csbc910234e0dfb587" target="_blank">rupture in the patella</a>.</p>
