Sekhukhune United managed a 2-1 win over Cape Town City in a Premier Soccer League (PSL) match on Sunday at the DHL Cape Town Stadium.
Babina Noko registered the victory as coach Eric Tinkler returned to haunt his former side, which is struggling and starring at a possible relegation.
Meanwhile, against the run of play, Samkele Sihlali, with an assist from Chibuike Ohizu, broke the deadlock in favour of Sekhukhune United in the 27th minute.
Ohizu got into the scoresheet after he scored the second for the visitors in the 42nd minute. Vuyo Letlapa provided the assist for the Nigerian to score his fourth league goal of the season.
Khulekani Shezi was sent off in the 46th minute after he received a second yellow card. However, Cape Town City failed to capitalise on the numerical advantage against their opponents.
The Citizens denied Babina Noko a clean sheet after Kayden Francis scored in the 67th minute.
Cape Town City remain in 14th place with 24 points, while Sekhukhune jump to the third position with 37 points.

SuperSport United's dream of getting out of the relegation zone suffered a setback after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Marumo Gallants on Saturday.
Matsatsantsa are in desperate need of points that would ensure they preserve their PSL status, but Gallants denied them more points by holding them to a one-all draw.
Andre Arendse's side broke the deadlock in the 45th minute when their experienced attacker, Bradley Grobler, scored with an assist from Lebohang Maboe.
However, Gallants fought back and equalised a minute after the hour mark through Matome Mathiane to deny SuperSport the points they desperately needed.
Matsatsantsa remain at position 15 with 23 points from as many games, while Gallants are 12th with 26 points from 24 games.
BackpageGolden Arrows 0-0 Chippa United
After being held to a goalless draw by Chippa United, Golden Arrows were unable to overtake struggling Kaizer Chiefs.
Arrows, 10th, sit a point below Kaizer Chiefs, who have 30 points ahead of their game against TS Galaxy later.
Chippa are ninth with 29 points.

AmaZulu ended a four-match winless run with a 1-0 victory over Richards Bay at King Goodwill Zwelithini Stadium.
Defender Taariq Fielies grabbed the all-important goal in 69 minutes, but his side, however, remained seventh on the table.
It was a setback for Richards Bay, who are still in the relegation mix at position 13 with one point better than SuperSport United, who are at the relegation cutoff point.
