PSL makes announcement on 2024/25 season awards after postponement over Mamelodi Sundowns CAF Champions League and FIFA Club World Cup engagements

The Premier Soccer League has announced the date when the nominees for the 2024/25 season awards will be revealed.

The league-running body has made the announcement after the ceremony had been postponed to give Mamelodi Sundowns ample time to participate at the FIFA Club World Cup and the CAF Champions League final.

"The nominees for the 2024/2025 PSL awards will be announced on Tuesday, 15 July, from 10:00 on all our social media platforms," PSL said.

The categories that will be contested are:

Betway Premiership Players’ Player of the Season

Betway Premiership Coach of the Season

Betway Premiership Goal of the Season

Betway Premiership Goalkeeper of the Season

Betway Premiership Defender of the Season

Betway Premiership Midfielder of the Season

Betway Premiership Young Player of the Season (under 21)

MTN8 Last Man Standing

Carling Knockout Player of the Tournament

Nedbank Cup Player of the Tournament

Nedbank Cup Most Promising Player of the Tournament

Motsepe Foundation Championship Players’ Player of the Season

Motsepe Foundation Championship Young Player of the Season (under 19)

Motsepe Foundation Championship Goalkeeper of the Season

DStv Diski Challenge Player of the Season

PSL Assistant Referee of the Season

Fans are eagerly waiting to see who will be nominated and who will eventually be named as the winners of each category.

Mamelodi Sundowns' Lucas Ribeiro, who was last season's top scorer, and Orlando Pirates Relebohile Mofokeng have been tipped as the likely winners of the PSL Footballer of the Season.

Sundowns tactician Miguel Cardoso, who led the club to their eighth consecutive PSL title but failed to win the Champions League, is the prime candidate to win the Coach of the Season award.
