    WHAT HAPPENED?

Premier Soccer League chairman Dr Irvin Khoza has finally confirmed the prize money for the ongoing 2024-25 campaign.

A few months ago, Khoza had announced betting company Betway as the league's new sponsor but he couldn't reveal the prize money for the winners.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

The PSL signed a three-year deal with betting company Betway in July this year as the top-flight's new sponsor. Last season, the title winner received R15 million under the DStv sponsorship.

During the announcement of the partnership early this year, Khoza disclosed that the agreement is worth about R900 million.

Moreover, the chairman also revealed that the league has set new betting rules for players as they are not allowed to place bets.
