  • WHAT IS MORE

This season, Cossa, who was named the Chiefs' Chiefs DDC Players' Player of the Year at the end of the 2023/24 season, will spend the season under Owen Da Gama in the Botswana Premier League.

The winner of the DStv Diski Challenge last season has already arrived in Botswana, ready to start his season under the former Orlando Pirates head coach.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

With the expected stiff competition at Chiefs, Cossa has been loaned out to gain the necessary experience elsewhere.

However, he arrives at Black Lions at a time when the club is experiencing a poor start to the season; they have yet to win a single game after three games.

At Chiefs, he was to face competition for positions with Aden McCarthy, Rushwin Dortley, Bradley Cross, and Given Msimango, and these defenders are more experienced than him.

    WHAT NEXT FOR COSSA?

At Black Lions, Cossa is set to learn under the experienced coach who is known for developing stars who have gone on to establish themselves.

Da Gama worked with Peter Shalulile at Highlands Park FC, and recently, the Mamelodi Sundowns' star became PSL's all-time top scorer.

If he performs well, he will surely raise his profile, and it will be hard for him to be ignored when he returns to Naturena.
