    WHAT HAPPENED?

Persebaya Surabaya head coach Eduardo Perez has addressed the absence of Flavio Silva, who has been missing since pre-season training began on June 23.

Reports suggest the Portuguese striker is the only foreign player yet to report for duty and was given a June 26 deadline to return, which he missed.

Speaking on the situation, Perez said he’s not letting it distract him, choosing instead to leave the matter in the hands of club management.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Perez’s comments suggest that Silva may no longer be part of his plans for the upcoming season. The striker’s extended absence only adds to speculation that an unveiling may be imminent.

With over 30 goals to his name, Silva has been heavily linked with a move to Chiefs, and with the club’s pre-season tour to the Netherlands approaching, fans are eager to see if he’ll be announced in time.
