    WHAT HAPPENED?

Former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Sipho Mbule has been offered to Kaizer Chiefs, the player's agent, Mike Makaab, has revealed.

There has been mounting speculation around Mbule's next move, with rumours linking him with a move to Naturena. According to Makaab, the midfielder has been offered to Chiefs, and that means the ball is now on the Soweto giants' court.

    WHAT MAKAAB SAID

"Let me set the record straight. Sipho Mbule has been offered to Kaizer Chiefs. It is up to the club to make the decision, and we need to respect that decision," Makaab said through a social media post.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Mbule, 27, is a free agent after his contract was not extended by Sundowns. The Tshwane giants opted not to trigger a two-year extension on the midfielder's contract that will end on June 30.

He joined Masandawana in 2022 from SuperSport United with hopes that he would turn into one of the finest creative midfielders in the Premier Soccer League.

But earlier in the season that just concluded, he was sent on loan to Sekhukhune United for perhaps more game time. In 17 games, he scored two goals and provided three assists.

However, it is reported that disciplinary issues clouded his time at Sekhukhune United, leading to his contract being terminated prematurely.

He returned to Chloorkop, but his contract was not extended, technically making him a free agent.

    WHAT NEXT FOR MBULE?

With the disciplinary issues overshadowing his career, it remains to be seen which club will sign the talented, creative midfielder.

Now that Makaab has confirmed he has been offered to the Glamour Boys, a move by the club to sign him will hand Mbule a possible career lifeline.
