    WHAT HAPPENED?

    Orlando Pirates have suffered a considerable setback as Makhehleni Makhaula is suspended ahead of a clash with Kaizer Chiefs’ hoodoo side, Cape Town City.

    The 35-year-old midfielder has been exceptional for Jose Riveiro’s team this season, having featured in all ten Premier Soccer League matches thus far.

    However, Makhaula will sit out his first league game when Pirates challenge Cape Town City on Wednesday after receiving his fourth yellow card during a match against Magesi FC.

    Overall, the Mohlakeng-born midfield maestro has participated in 21 games this season across all competitions, solidifying his status as the Bucs' first-choice defensive midfielder.

    Additionally, Thalente Mbatha was an absentee during Pirates' Saturday victory in the Caf Champions League against Stade d’Abidjan at the Orlando Stadium.

    WHAT NEXT FOR PIRATES?

    Pirates and Cape Town City will clash at the DHL Stadium on Wednesday, the same venue where Muhsin Ertugral’s team defeated Chiefs on Sunday.
