  • Sipho Chaine of Orlando PiratesBackpagepix

    Goalkeeper & Defence

    Sipho Chaine (6.5/10)

The goalkeeper was largely untroubled throughout the match, with Chippa’s attack offering very little in terms of serious threats.

    Thabiso Lebitso (7.5/10)

The right-back made an excellent return to the matchday squad after his injury layoff, putting in a standout performance that proved his value to the team.

    Lebone Seema (7/10)

Seema was dependable at the back whenever called upon, though he had little to worry about as Pirates dominated possession and spearheaded most of the attacking play.

    Mbekezeli Mbokazi (7/10)

Playing alongside Seema, the young captain delivered a composed and reliable performance, showing maturity beyond his years.

    Deon Hotto (7.5/10)

The Namibian was far more effective this time around, dazzling in attack and rewarding his performance with a well-taken goal.

    Midfield

    Sihle Nduli (6.5/10)

The midfielder once again displayed his composure on the ball, controlling the tempo and dictating play for the Buccaneers in the middle.

    Thalente Mbatha (7/10)

The 25-year-old continued to impress, excelling both in defence and distribution, proving himself as a vital link between the backline and the attack.

    Kamogelo Sebelebele (7/10)

Sebelebele was effective on the right wing, but didn’t quite reach the same peak he showed in previous games, particularly in terms of shots on goal.

    Patrick Maswanganyi (7/10)

‘Tito’, as he is affectionately known, opened the scoring for the Buccaneers but later missed a penalty. He was eventually substituted, reportedly due to injury, though no further details were provided.

    Oswin Appollis (8/10)

Appollis was superb for the Buccaneers. His skill, vision and ability to glide past defenders created constant danger and he even rattled the upright with a near-perfect shot that would have been the cherry on top.

  • Evidence Makgopa of Orlando Pirates and Nathan Fasika of Chippa UnitedBackpagepix

    Attack

    Evidence Makgopa (7/10)

While he didn’t get on the scoresheet, Makgopa made an impact with his off-the-ball movement and contributions to Pirates’ attacking build-up.

  • Tshepang Moremi of Orlando PiratesBackpagepix

    Subs & Manager

    Tshepang Moremi (7/10)

A flawless cameo from Moremi, who came off the bench to score the third goal, marking his first for Pirates in style.

    Sipho Mbule (6.5/10)

The ‘Master Chef’, as he’s affectionately known, came on to steady the game and kept things under control until the final whistle.

    Relebohile Mofokeng (6.5/10)

Mofokeng returned to the matchday squad after missing the midweek clash against Orbit College on medical advice. He put in a fair display for the time he spent on the field.

    Bandile Shandu (No rating)

    Not enough minutes played.

    Tshegofatso Mabasa (No rating)

    Not enough minutes played.

    Abdeslam Ouaddou (7/10)

This was Pirates’ most commanding display under Ouaddou so far, showing that the coach is finding his rhythm and successfully shaping his team.
