Orlando Pirates’ Mohau Nkota confident in Caf Champions League success: 'We just need to focus on ourselves and stay humble'

Orlando Pirates have made an impressive start in the Caf Champions League, currently topping Group C with five points from a win and two draws.

Mohau Nkota, who is enjoying a strong start to life in the senior team, has ten appearances across all competitions and four goals to his name.

Two of these goals came against CR Belouizdad in Algeria on Match Day One.

In their most recent game, Pirates secured a draw away to Stade d'Abidjan and in the aftermath Nkota expressed confidence in the team’s ability to reach the final and highlighted their positive performance.

The young forward believes their success hinges on staying focused and continually improving, a mindset that reflects the team's collective ambition to add a second star to their badge.

“We believe we can reach the final, but we need to stay humble and focus on winning every remaining game while improving ourselves,” Nkota told Caf media as reported by iDiski Times.

“We’re focused on ourselves, not Sundowns. We already have a star on our badge, and now we want another.

“Our aim is to be the best and achieve our own goals. I think we just need to work on ourselves and remain humble at all times.”

The 20-year-old forward and his team must maintain their unbeaten streak in Caf Champions League Group C. Winning their next three games would secure qualification for the knockout stages.

Nkota also needs to keep contributing by finding the net and providing key assists to boost his team’s chances. Pirates are showing strong potential, but the margin for error is slim. The young forward's performances will be critical as the competition heats up.
